Her new summer job comes with baggage. Scarlett Martin has grown up in a most unusual way. Her family owns the Hopewell, a small hotel in the heart of New York City, and Scarlett lives there with her four siblings - Spencer, Lola, and Marlene. When each of the Martins turns fifteen, they are expected to take over the care of a suite in the once elegant, now shabby Art Deco hotel. For Scarlett's fifteenth birthday, she gets both a room called the Empire Suite, and a permanent guest called Mrs. Amberson. Scarlett doesn't quite know what to make of this C-list starlet, world traveler, and aspiring autobiographer who wants to take over her life. And when she meets Eric, an astonishingly gorgeous actor who has just moved to the city, her summer takes a second unexpected turn. Before the summer is over, Scarlett will have to survive a whirlwind of thievery, Broadway glamour, romantic missteps, and theatrical deceptions. But in the city where anything can happen, she just might be able to pull it off.
My Thoughts:
Before I got this book, I was REALLY excited to be getting it and reading it. It looked really good and I like Maureen Johnson. So when I started reading it I realized it wasn't as good as I thought it would be BUT I still really liked it! I loved the relationship between Scarlett and her older brother. But I didn't like that her younger sister, Marlene, seemed to hate her so much. I didn't really understand that. I really liked Lola's character! She seemed So nice and sweet! Marlene seemed so bratty and mean! Spencer was probably my favorite because he seemed like a really funny cool brother. I loved his way of making people laugh! If I ever had a brother I would want him to be like Spencer. Anyways, When they first introduced Eric into the story I really liked him. But later with all the drama he was bringing I didn't like so much. With his girlfriend and all... Lol anways, I almost forgot about Mrs. Amberson! How can I forget about her! She was also one of my favorite characters. She was a funny women and I LOVED her crazy personality! This book was fun and I really liked it! A lot of crazy things happened to all these characters and it was really interesting to read. Im giving this book a...

Rhiannon has just been dumped without a reason. She's miserable beyond belief. Nicole has just dumped her boyfriend with a reason. She's confused beyond belief. And James...James would do nearly anything to get Rhiannon to stop mooning over her ex and finally notice him as more than her buddy. Over the course of a week, many things will happen to these three friends. There will be confessed secrets, messages on sidewalks, delivered flowers, a ton of photocopied notes, one awesome speech, and lots and lots of karma.
But in the end, will they discover what they truly want?
My Thoughts:
I've always been a fan of Susane Colosanti work.
Some things in this book were predictable and some were not. It was a pretty good book. It was cool to read all the characters different perspective of the things that were going on. This was not one of those books that you can't put down, its more like a good SSR book for school or just for fun. I had fun reading it and I'm sure you will. I liked When It Happens a lot more and I haven't read the latest Susane Colosanti book, but it looks really good!
Well this is not a must read or to die for but it was good. I did enjoy it and hopefully you will too. I think I'm going to keep this short and rate the book now. I just made a new rating system and this is my first book I'm using it on! Anyways, I'm giving this book a...

New York Times bestselling author Karen Rose delivers her latest pulse-pounding suspense novel, where the line between the virtual world and everyday reality blurs when it comes to murder. Eve Wilson's face was once scarred by a vicious assault. Terrified and ashamed, she escaped to the online realm, where she could choose the face she allowed people to see. Years later, her outer scars faded and inner scars buried, Eve has fought her way back to the real world and is determined to help others do the same. Now a graduate student moonlighting as a bartender, Eve researches the addictive powers of online communities. When her test subjects begin turning up dead as a result of apparent suicides, she doesn't know where to turn. Homicide detective Noah Webster is one of the few people who believe the victims are connected murders. Eve becomes Noah's online guide and realizes that the handsome detective may have secret scars as painful as her own. As Eve and Noah chase a killer who is always one step ahead of them, together they try to overcome the tragedies of their pasts and learn to trust again, but they soon discover that danger is much closer than they think.
My Thoughts:
Let me tell ya, this book was LONG! But I finished it in a day and a half! (I know, I'm SO cool). I finished it fast because, well, it was... AMAZING! Karen Rose is now officially one of my favorite authors. I love how every chapter was someone elses perspective which was really cool. One chapter was about the killer and what he wanted to do to his victims (Pretty Nasty). Another would be about Eve and what she was doing. You know what I mean. Anyways it was pretty interesting. I never got bored of this book, it kept me wanting more! It was actually a very good book and hopefully I will be able to read more of Karen Rose's work. I don't want to spoil anything so you HAVE to read this one on your own! It's totally worth it. So, I'm giving this book an...

Tom Loxley, an Indian-Australian professor, is less concerned with finishing his book on Henry James than with finding his dog, who is lost in the Australian bush.Joining his daily hunt is Nelly Zhang, an artist whose husband disappeared mysteriously years before Tom met her. Although Nelly helps him search for his beloved pet, Tom isn't sure if he should trust this new friend.Tom has preoccupations other than his book and Nelly and his missing dog, mainly concerning his mother, who is suffering from the various indignities of old age. He is constantly drawn from the cerebral to the primitive--by his mother's infirmities, as well as by Nelly's attractions. THE LOST DOG makes brilliant use of the conventions of suspense and atmosphere while leading us to see anew the ever-present conflicts between our bodies and our minds, the present and the past, the primal and the civilized.
Park Avenue Princess is ALSO having a contest for the Lost Dog!

An inspirational work of young adult urban fiction, this 27,983 word manuscript depicts the journey of a female protagonist whose pursuit of success leads her uncover things about herself and her ability to lean on God in times of need. The novel's protagonist is a girl living in the inner-city, with the aspirations of becoming a singer. Soon, after a small break comes her way, a stranger helps her to become closer to God and many tragic things begin to happen in her life. In addition, a nagging melody begins in her head that she tries to ignore, but is always there. After the girl fails at trying to get her album together, she finds words to this melody that directly contradict the ultra sexy, ultra violent lyrics she is required to sing. Three adolescent boys with a single goal: see a real live naked girl. The result? Razor-sharp, rapid-fire, and raunchy, of course. And beyond hilarious.
Fifteen-year-old Matt Gratton and his two best friends, Coop and Sean, always set themselves a summertime goal. This year's? To see a real-live naked girl for the first time — quite a challenge, given that none of the guys has the nerve to even ask a girl out on a date. But catching a girl in the buff starts to look easy compared to Matt's other summertime aspiration: to swim the 100-yard butterfly (the hardest stroke known to God or man) as a way to impress Kelly West, the sizzling new star of the swim team. In the spirit of Hollywood’s blockbuster comedies, screenwriter-turned-YA-novelist Don Calame unleashes a true ode to the adolescent male: characters who are side-splittingly funny, sometimes crude, yet always full of heart.
My Thoughts: (Very short thoughts today!)
I honestly didn't think I was going to like this one. It sounded interesting so I got it at the library and I read it the other day when I was at the beach. Once I started I couldn't really stop. It was pretty good. It was actually hilarious. I really laughed out loud quite a few times! I loved the way Don Calame wrote this! It was just so funny!
Spoilers Below!
I loved how Matt wouldn't give up especially when he didn't have to Swim the Fly anymore! And he wouldn't give up on trying to get Kelly. I honestly didn't know what he saw in that girl! I was always a fan of Valerie as soon as she came into the story. Matt and his friends were very funny and the things they did just to see a real live naked girl was so funny and embarrassing!
Spoilers Above!
I really needed a book to make me laugh and this book definitely accomplished that!
So I'm giving this book an...

If Nina Khan were to rate herself on the unofficial Pakistani prestige point system – the one she’s sure all the aunties and uncles use to determine the most attractive marriage prospects for their children – her scoring might go something like this: +2 points for getting excellent grades –3 points for failing to live up to expectations set by genius older sister +4 points for dutifully obeying parents and never, ever going to parties, no matter how antisocial that makes her seem to everyone at Deer Hook High –1 point for harboring secret jealousy of her best friends, who are allowed to date like normal teenagers +2 points for never drinking an alcoholic beverage –10 points for obsessing about Asher Richelli, who talks to Nina like she’s not a freak at all, even though he knows that she has a disturbing line of hair running down her back
In this wryly funny debut novel, the smart, sassy, and utterly lovable Nina Khan tackles friends, family, and love, and learns that it’s possible to embrace two very different cultures – even if things can get a little bit, well, hairy.
My Thoughts:
Nina is Muslim and her family is VERY strict. She is not aloud to have a boyfriend because her parents will pick a husband for her and they don't want her to fall behind on her studies. They expect her to get into a very good college which would be Yale. Nina's sister is going to Harvard and they expect Nina to be like her. People start to think that Nina is weird because her parents won't let her go to any parties or sleepovers.
Then there is a new kid that every girl in her school wants and flirts a lot with him. His name is Asher and Nina starts to REALLY like him. He talks to her like she isn't a freak (which she thinks she is but she's not!).
Nina is very self conscious so she hates everything about herself. She thinks she is hairy and that everyone notices. When Asher points out that she has a stripe of hair going down her back she freaks! This is a funny and fun book to read.
I know I can relate to Nina A LOT! My parents are really strict too, but not as strict because I can go to sleepovers. Anyways, I'm really self conscious also. So I feel her pain!
This was a very sweet book and I liked it. I really didn't think I was going to like it but it wasn't bad. I just picked it up at the library and thought I would try it out.
If your bored or whatever I would recommend reading this book!
Im giving this book a...

My Thoughts:
I've read this book a couple of years ago and I really liked it. I wanted to read the rest of the series but I never got to it. Then I re-read this book last year and got the rest of the series on my birthday and read them all. I love these kind of books, they are really interesting. It was a good easy to read book and I could not put it down. I HAD to know what was going to happen next. It was just one of those books. I loved reading about her dreams and finding out what happened to the little girl she used to babysit (I didn't like what happened!). I just love mystery AND romance in a book! Now I'm looking forward to reading Black is for Beginnings.
I don't think I could ever be as strong as Stacey If I went threw the same things she did. It would be SO hard to just live knowing what happened to that little girl and that I could have stopped it. And then having these dreams again, I would freak. Its just really sad and thats what makes this book even better. SO many emotions! So I'm giving this book an...

Audio books drive me CRAZY! I can't stand them! I tried to listen to one last night but I couldn't do it. I would rather read the book. The voice was so not what I was expecting, it was ugly. I couldn't stand to listen to it. Maybe other audio books are better... or not. I like to imagine how the voices are and how they talk. I like to imagine how they feel and how they act. When I started to listen to the tape, I felt sick. But I only heard one audio book and I got like five from the library. So im going to listen to the others and maybe I'll like it. but I doubt it.

Yay! Im Home!! And I had a blast! It was SO fun. I even got to drive the boat! We were there all day today from like 9am to 5pm and its a couple hours ride home. I tried water Skiing... it didn't go so well but it wasn't all my fault because the Ski's were too big and everytime I tried, it came right off from under my feet and I fell in the water. Anyways I went inner-tubing and that was REALLY fun! There was no WiFi in the hotel but I wouldn't have had anytime anyways. So I thought maybe you should know and you should definetley try it out!
