Alexis thought she led a typically dysfunctional high school existence. Dysfunctional like her parents' marriage; her doll-crazy twelve-year-old sister, Kasey; and even her own anti-social, anti-cheerleader attitude.
When a family fight results in some tearful sisterly bonding, Alexis realizes that her life is creeping from dysfunction into danger. Kasey is acting stranger than ever: her blue eyes go green sometimes; she uses old-fashioned language; and she even loses track of chunks of time, claiming to know nothing about her strange behavior. Their old house is changing, too. Doors open and close by themselves; water boils on the unlit stove; and an unplugged air conditioner turns the house cold enough to see their breath in.
Alexis wants to think that it's all in her head, but soon, what she liked to think of as silly parlor tricks are becoming life-threatening—to her, her family, and to her budding relationship with the class president. Alexis knows she's the only person who can stop Kasey — but what if that green-eyed girl isn't even Kasey anymore?
My Thoughts:
I got this book like two weeks ago and I read it all the day after I got it! Sorry its taking me so long to post my review! I've been SO busy! Anyways, like I said, I read it all day after I got it and it was AWESOME! It was a bit creepy but it was really good. I'm for sure a scary cat. I get scared REALLY REALLY easily. I did have to stop reading the book at night because I thought a little green eyed girl was going to attack me, lol and I also have a little sister which totally scared me. If you've read the book then you know what I mean. This is a MUST READ!! Katie Alender is an awesome author and I can't wait for the sequel :) I know this is kind of short but the book is GREAT!
Im rating this book a...

Walking the Moon by Sarah Dessen
Colie expects the worst when she's sent to spend the summer with her eccentric aunt Mira while her mother, queen of the television infomercial, tours Europe. Always an outcast -- first for being fat and then for being "easy" -- Colie has no friends at home and doesn't expect to find any in Colby, North Carolina. But then she lands a job at the Last Chance Cafe and meets fellow waitresses Morgan and Isabel, best friends with a loving yet volatile relationship. Wacky yet wise, Morgan and Isabel help Colie see herself in a new way and realize the potential that has been there all along.
My Thoughts:
First let me say that I'm SO sorry! I haven't been around much at all! Its just with all my homework its really hard to check my blog. Sorry Guys! Ok so I started reading this book last night and I finished it :) I just LOVE Sarah Dessen. My favorite from her is The Truth about Forever. And Keeping the Moon is like my second favorite :) I haven't read all her books but all the ones I have are great!
Keeping the Moon was really good. Colie had so much anger in her it was crazy! Lots of people would say nasty things about her and she just let them. She was scared. When she went to Colby she wasn't very nice to Norman. She was not used to having someone be nice to her. Isabel was really funny. She couldn't help but criticize people especially Colie. Megan was so used to all the guys going to Isabel that she couldn't believe she found someone for her. She fell in love but was WAY to hung up on him! All these girls were completley different yet became good friends. Mira is Colie's aunt and she didn't care what people thought of her. She was a very happy women. Colie thought she was going to have the worst summer ever when she really had the best.
So much stuff happens in this book and it wasn't so predictable for me. I knew there will be a love interest for Colie but only because its a Sarah Dessen book :D Im rating this book a...

Legacy by Cayla Kluver
The first boy disappeared on the day of his birth, on a night when the pale yellow moon of the nighttime sky turned red and bathed the heavens in the ghastly color of blood, on the same night the Kingdom of Cokyri abruptly ceased its merciless attack.
Across the land of Hytanica, under the shadow of the crimson moon, infant boys continued to vanish. Not until the blood had faded from the sky did the disappearances stop, and the bodies of the murdered infants were found outside the gates of the city, a final word from the greatest enemy Hytanica had ever known. For the next sixteen years, peace reigned, but one mystery remained unsolved. The Cokyrians had abducted forty-nine newborns, but returned only forty-eight bodies.
Now, as seventeen-year-old Princess Alera of Hytanica is besieged from all sides by suitors vying for the Throne, a teenage Cokyrian boy, Narian, is encountered within the walls of her Kingdom, a boy who will show Alera a world where women serve a purpose and not just a husband. As Narian helps Alera find her voice, she struggles against an arranged marriage that will shatter the life she has scarcely begun to live. And when Narian's shocking past is uncovered, and war with Cokyri looms once more, he must fight to defy a fate ordained at his birth.
My Thoughts:
Before I start I would like to point out that the Author who wrote this book is 16! Isn't that awesome? It's not everyday I come across an Author who is my age. She wrote the book when she was like 14 or 15. Her name is Cayla Kluver and she's a great Author.
Legacy is such a great book! I won a copy from /- LA FEMME READERS -/ and I started reading last night and couldn't stop! My favorite character is probably Alera because I feel that I can relate to her. She wants to make her father happy but she wants to be happy herself. She doesn't want anything to do with Steldor (I wouldn't either) and she even lets him know she doesn't want him. Steldor has a BIG ego and is very annoying. I hate guys like that. Alera's father wants her to marry him! Steldor thinks Alera is jealous of him! He's obviously not used to having a girl turn him down. And when Narian comes everything seems to change for Alera. She is drawn to him and his mysterious ways. Alera is not sure if she should trust him. He rarely shows any kind of feeling on his face. Yet, Alera trusts him with all her heart. I love Miranna. She such a good sister. She's seems so sweet and friendly (total opposite from mine) and she tries to help out with Alera and Steldor's marriage (By helping I mean not letting Alera marry him).
I swear, once you start reading this book, you can't stop. Its SO good. The book ended with me wanting more! I can't wait till Allegience comes out! Cayla has her own website and she says there will be three books in the series, Legacy, Allegiance and Redemption. You should check out her awesome webite:www.caylakluver.com
And her blog is: Cayla's Author Blog
This is such an awesome book to read and I would recommend it to anyone who likes reading for fun! Im going to rate it a...

Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles
Nothing has been the same since Caleb Becker left a party drunk, got behind the wheel, and hit Maggie Armstrong. Even after months of painful physical therapy, Maggie walks with a limp. Her social life is nil and a scholarship to study abroad—her chance to escape everyone and their pitying stares—has been canceled.
After a year in juvenile jail, Caleb’s free . . . if freedom means endless nagging from a transition coach and the prying eyes of the entire town. Coming home should feel good, but his family and ex-girlfriend seem like strangers.
Caleb and Maggie are outsiders, pigeon-holed as "criminal" and "freak." Then the truth emerges about what really happened the night of the accident and, once again, everything changes. It’s a bleak and tortuous journey for Caleb and Maggie, yet they end up finding comfort and strength from a surprising source: each other.
My Thoughts:
My best friend (Jenna) let me borrow this book the other day and I just started reading it last night. Once I started I cloud NOT put it down. I stayed up until three in the morning reading to the end. It was SO good! I LOVED it! I was hooked to the book as soon as I started the first sentence. Isn't that crazy? I thought this book was sad. And it was very emotional! I swear I cried at the end! The only thing I didn't like so much was the end. I mean I liked the very last sentences but not what happend between certain people... I'm not going to tell you because you have to read it and find out! It's very sad at the end... Anyways, Maggie and Caleb are great characters. I love that Maggie stayed strong threw the book, she became even stronger after she met Mrs. Reynolds. I play lots of sports and I would HATE it if I ever got ran over by a car. It would ruin my life. I know I would learn to live threw it like Maggie did. But I don't think I would be as brave and strong as her. And Caleb seemed like such a great guy! He would take the blame for ANYTHING! He cared for Maggie. ALOT. He would also protect his sister no matter what. I hope you guys love this book as much as I did! I'm rating it a...
Please tell what you guys thought of this book!
Thanks guys :P

The Secret Life Of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
Sue Monk Kidd's ravishing debut novel has stolen the hearts of reviewers and readers alike with its strong, assured voice. Set in South Carolina in 1964, The Secret Life of Bees tells the story of Lily Owens, whose life has been shaped around the blurred memory of the afternoon her mother was killed. When Lily's fierce-hearted "stand-in mother," Rosaleen, insults three of the town's fiercest racists, Lily decides they should both escape to Tiburon, South Carolina--a town that holds the secret to her mother's past. There they are taken in by an eccentric trio of black beekeeping sisters who introduce Lily to a mesmerizing world of bees, honey, and the Black Madonna who presides over their household. This is a remarkable story about divine female power and the transforming power of love--a story that women will share and pass on to their daughters for years to come.
My Thoughts:
I've heard a lot of great things about this book from so many different people. My mom even says people from her work talk about it. So I went to Powell's and bought it for My mom and I to read. I've obviously read it but not my mom. She mostly interested in Ann Rule books. But she'll get around to it especially since I thinks its such a great book! Yupp, that's right, I loved it! I'm hoping the movie is really good, I've seen some reviews and it looks good. Anyways, this book was a little sad. I mean, It would suck to live like Lily. Knowing what she did. But I don't want to ruin anything for you guys because this is such a good book and you should read it and find out. I thought Lily was SO brave for helping Rosaleen and having to go threw the things she did with her dad. It also really sucked that Lily didn't have any friends at school and she basically hated herself. I'm glad she did what she did. It's a great book. I recommend this to EVERYONE! I'm rating it a...
